Comments: I purchased the Elite 80 over 1 year ago. I have been nothing but pleased with it. Not only is it esthetically pleasing and a great conversation starter, but the sound is phenomenal as well. I have run my JBL CF150, rear channel JBL bookshelves and my Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. There has been nothing disappointing within any application.
Also, Syd was a pleasure to deal with with no pressure. He made me feel quite comfortable the moment I walked into his shop. Recently I touched base with syd about some upgrades and he took the time to answer all my questions honestly rather than just trying to make more money from me. A true gentleman.

Comments: Okay, I really wanted to make this good. I've had the Elite 80 about a month now. I set it up on a sleeping porch on the 2nd story of my house, a room that runs the length of the house but is only 7 feet deep with windows covering three sides. I'm using half the room in a nearfield situation. I'm using an Antique Sound Lab preamp that I purchased in 2001 but have seldom used due to its 20 step volume control. The Elite 80 controls cure this problem. Speakers are a pair of Infinity Interlude IL10's. My goal was to be a reviewer and compare it to current equipment I own. In that I have failed. Every time I sit down to listen, I get lost in the music and any critical thoughts vanish. The system draws me in. I can sit for hours with no fatigue. What can I say? I love this amp. It has locked into the system and brought me countless hours of pleasure. No small accomplishment.

Comments: I purchased from Ideal Innovations a custom-built Classic 70 amplifier. Syd Beaumont worked with me to understand my requirements for this amplifier in the context of the system in which the amplifier is to be used. What he provided is wonderful, and an excellent counterpart to my other large tube amplifier, a McIntosh 240. The Classic 70 is beautifully built, and it arrived packed to survive the worst any postal service might choose to inflict. The sound: Lush, liquid, dynamic, musical - against a silent (no hiss, no hum) backdrop.

I listen to a number of high resolution SACD, DVD-A, DTS, and other recordings. I recommend this amplifier highly. As for Syd Beaumont - a gentleman, a fine engineer, and a wonderful craftsman.
