Comments: I recieved my Elite-80 amplifier today and wanted to share my impressions. Firstly, the amp was packaged very well. Wrapped in 6 metres of bubble wrap and then inside a sturdy oversized box, with large fragile stickers on all sides. The tubes were wrapped in thick towellette, boxed, and also wrapped. A nice owners manual booklet explaining do's and dont's was included. The tubes are labed 1,2,3,4 and go in the appropiate sockets outlined in the manual. After turning it on for 5 minutes, I started with all my favorite cd's and am very happy. Punchy bass, and spacious, airy mids/highs, reproducing male and female vocal very well. I use Fostex 167E BR minimonitors that are 95db and find the 20WPC able to play at substantial volume levels. I must also mention how quite the amp is when no signal is present. With efficient speakers some tube amps generate an audiable hiss/hum not present in music but quite annoying with no signal. Not here :) Thanks for the great product, I am sure after a few years, and my budget increases, I would like to try your upscale amplifiers, in my 2 channel setup and retire this amp to my home theatre.
