Comments: Hi Syd,

I purchased a Custom 55 from you around 2 1/2 years ago (April 03). I'm using it on a pair of Magnapan MMG (4 Ohm). My amp came with EL34 output tubes, now it has 6L6GC-a little more bass. I've tried Onkyo (100WPC) Carver (200WPC) and other models. Nothing compares to the unbelievable clarity using your amp. I thought my speakers were not that good before I got your 27.5WPC amp. It is still running strong after 2 moves across several states.
Again-this is one of the best sounding amps I've ever heard. Keep up the good work.

Comments: I wanted to say a bit about Syd's post-sale service recently. I had several questions about the circuitry etc. of my Custom 60 (built about a year ago - see my initial feedback). All my questions were answered with the ultimate in patience and knowledge. A slight problem I was having was eventually traced to my vintage Marantz preamp, with Syd's help. Suffice to say, I couldn't be happier with the appearance and sound of the Custom 60 or Syd. Syd, you are a true gentleman and craftsman.

Comments: Here are my thoughts on the PPP 6B4G Amp.

I received my Ideal Innovations "Super 6B4G PPP Convertible" amp several weeks ago and would like to share my thoughts about it with you.

This is the 2'nd Amp Syd has built for me and I must say that it is a dream come true amp for me.

This amp will drive almost any type speaker you could want to use with it.

It is so versatile and well designed and Syd has built in so many great features I would like to share them with you.

A built in 15-second timer delays application of B+ voltage to allow the tube filaments to heat before the B+ voltage is applied ' it is very gentle on the tubes at start up.

Selectable B+ voltages are available at the flip of the Tube Saver switches. This lets me use a wide range of power output tubes 6V6, 6L6, 5881, KT66, 6CA7, EL34, KT77, 6550, KT88, KT90, and my favorite the Sovtek 6B4G. Another major benefit of this is if you leave the Tube Saver switches in the low position your power tubes should have a very long life.

Variable application of Negative Feedback from 1dB to 15dB so you can fine tune the amp for the gain of the output tubes you are using. As an example I use 1dB of negative feedback for the 6B4G Triodes and around 8dB for KT90 Pentodes.

The driver/phase splitter tubes can be selected by a switch, to use either the 12AU7/ECC82, 12BH7, ECC99 family of tubes or the 5687, 6900, 7044, 7119/E182CC family of tubes - this gives you great flexibility of fine tuning the amp when used in conjunction with the different power output tubes.

This amp was designed with two massive, independent power supplies incorporating 4 power transformers to ensure each channel has total separation.

I can use different quads of power output tubes in each channel. For example - four 6B4G's in the left channel and four KT90's in the right channel. This is really a great setup. I can use 1 dB of negative feedback for both sets of output tubes and match channel levels with the input level controls ' it really sounds fantastic.

The best part of all is the sound of this amp, in my opinion, when used with the Sovtek 6B4G's. It is the best performing parallel push pull amp built and it has plenty of power to drive my low efficiency planner loudspeakers.

Syd is a true Master Tube Amp Designer - the sound, build quality, and flexibility of his amp designs are the best available in my opinion.

Thanks Syd, You have built another wonderful amp for me.
