Comments: I recently purchased the Custom-60 Mono-block power amplifiers and Model-2 pre-amp. Great sound on my Klipsch K-Horns. Any other amps I've had in the past pale in comparison. Syd was a real professional to deal with. Delivery was ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend Syd and his product. Don't just take my word for it. Live in the K-W area? Call me and drop by to listen to them. Bob: 1-519-743-2412.

Comments: Hi Syd,

Your Custom 30 monoblock amplifiers are a very fine product. They are musical and dynamic. They drive my relatively innefficient Dynaudio speakers as well as another company's 120 watt monoblocks in a direct substitution using an active preamp. Also, the 120 watters (at twice the cost) sound much darker in comparison.

Thanks as well for answering my many questions. You really stand behind your products!

Comments: I use amplifiers built by "Ideal Innovations" to enjoy multi-channel Super Audio CD and DVD-Audio recordings. This is possible since my "hybrid" (plays nearly ALL formats, including DTS) CD player performs digital to analog conversion and has 6 separate analog outputs, one per channel. I can play regular CDs and stereo Super Audio CDs as well - in this case only 2 out of 6 outputs are active. I probably could purchase 5 mono-blocks from "Ideal Innovations" - one per channel (almost all sub-woofers come with built-in amplifiers, therefore a separate amplifier for the sub-woofer channel is not needed), however I asked "Ideal Innovations" to built 4 units for me - 2 pre-amps and 2 power-amps. The second power-amp is unusual - it amplifies 3 channels as opposed to regular 2. It looks a bit weird (3 sets of tubes instead of 2) but very cool at the same time. It took me and "Ideal Innovations" a couple of telephone conversations to figure out what exactly I needed ' number of channels, power requirements, etc. Everything worked out great, though. For stereo playback I turn on only one amplifier set, for multi-channel playback I turn on both. Thanks, "Ideal Innovations" - I really love my stereo (?) (or should I say "quinto"?).

For those that may be interested... The Super Audio CD format seems to deliver higher quality than the DVD-Audio format. The player that I use is Marantz DV 8400. I experimented with a couple of Pioneer Elites and a Denon DV 4500 however I liked the Marantz the most. As far as I am concerned multi-channel music is not the domain of transistor receivers anymore. By the way - almost all (if not all) transistor receivers will not allow you to change loudness/volume/balance distribution between separate channels. My setup allows total flexibility - I can play with each individual channel settings as much as I want. Some day I will probably get a turn-table but in the meantime I am a very happy audiophile. Thanks again, "Ideal Innovations" - one more satisfied customer.
