For a combined time of
more than 75 years we have been designing and building tube amplifiers, preamplifiers
and speaker systems. Our Senior Audio Engineer was designing and building
audio equipment when Harold Leak was building his line of amplifiers
(yes he's getting old but we won't hold that against him). With
recent advancements in worldwide
communications and the renewed strong interest in vacuum tube technology,
we feel this is the time to share our vast experience that's built into
our quality crafted products.
Drawing from this wealth of audio
experience in both new design and repair service areas, we share with you our vision of what makes a good amplifier. Many recipes have been tried over the years and now
we offer you the best results of our many successful batches. We
have seen enough design problems built into other's products to know how to
avoid those mistakes in our designs.
Much effort has been spent to specify and source the best quality components for the money to be
used in these amplifiers. When possible we have chosen military grade
components such as tubes, many with 5000 and even 10,000 hour life expectancies.
We also take full advantage of the great technical improvements of new electronic
compounds and materials used in manufacturing new components such as
transformers, resistors and capacitors for use our equipment. All
components are specified oversize so nothing runs at or even near to its
rated limits. As a result things run cooler and will just last
longer. We would
rather be remembered for overbuilding than for cheeping out on parts.
We personally do extensive listening tests on "every" amplifier
before it leaves the shop using
our favorite Altec Lansing monitors. For auditioning we often
listen with a set
of Altec 18’s using a sweet pair of 604E’s, or our custom
built Altec Lansing monitors that use pristine 288G’s driving 311-60
horns, and 421LF woofers. Other fine monitors regularly used in our listening
studios include JBL, Electro-Voice, Klipsch and of course some of our own design
speaker systems.
Here is our Philosophy:
We have faith in our design engineering expertise and our
track record proves this. We meticulously build a very decent
product at a low price that almost anyone can afford. We
WOULD NOT sell anyone an amplifier that didn't perform to our high
standards during listening tests. We build our equipment to last a
very long time. And we back our units with a solid warranty
and excellent customer support.
